Marshall County is a place experiencing an economic renewal brought about by unique circumstances of proximity to major transportation systems.

A network of four-lane highways, constructed by Mississippi’s robust highway building legislation in the past decade, has given Marshall County three four-lane highways traversing the county. And the location of the new federal Interstate 69 will cut across the northern part of the county as it travels from Canada to Mexico.

New shopping centers have sprung up in Holly Springs, Byhalia and Potts Camp at the intersections of U. S. Highway 78, designated to be the new I-22 Corridor, Commercial activity is also growing along four-lane U. S. Highway 72 in northern Marshall County and a recently opened four-lane Highway 302.

Located in the triangle of Highway 72, Highway 302 and the proposed I-69 is the Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park, a 2,600-acre business, industrial and distribution supersite. The Park has already attracted two major companies to locate in Marshall County.

While Marshall Countians look forward to a bright future of economic growth, there remains a deep respect for the quality of life found in this rich historic region.

Holly Springs, a city of tree-lined streets and quiet neighborhoods, is becoming a destination for tourists who appreciate the preservation of the historic architecture of buildings and antebellum homes built here over 150 years ago when fortunes were made from cotton and commerce.

While celebrating the past, Marshall Countians are intensely pursuing new opportunities to build a stronger county. The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce are strong advocates for development of businesses and civic projects throughout the county.
The county has experienced a transition from farming to higher valued use of land for housing sub-divisions, outdoor recreation, conservation and economic development.
