Private Schools
Non-public
education offers parents and students a choice of the educational road they
wish to follow. It is not a substitute for public education, but rather an
alternative to that process. Both systems should complement each other rather
than compare with one another. With this purpose in view, Marshall Academy
was chartered in 1965. Since that time, the directors of the foundation have
attempted to establish and operate a superior educational program.
Admission to the Marshall Academy school system is one of the areas of operation
that is the sole responsibility of the Board of Directors. Race, color, creed
and national origin are not factors of consideration for admission.
Factors to be considered for admission are the following:
(1) Do parents and students want to follow the road of non-public education?
(2) Can the school do something for the student?
(3) Can the student do the required work and contribute the extracurricular
activities of the student body?
(4) Will students and parents cooperate with faculty and administration regarding
course of study, rules of discipline, and honesty in work and actions and board
policies?
The privilege of admission to an educational system should never be taken lightly.
With this privilege comes responsibility to provide the best educational facility
and environment possible, and it means the student has the responsibility of
accepting this privilege of admission by hard work, cooperation and participation.
A standard of excellence can be attained by this means.
