Acme Brick honors employees for safety record
Some of the top managers of Acme Brick came to Holly Springs last week to
honor employees for their dedication to the company, their discipline and
safety, and for improving the appearance both inside and outside the facility.
Ed Watson, vice president of production, handed out two-, five-, 15-, 35-,
and 50-year pins to show the company’s appreciation. Twenty-four employees
received service pins.
“
It’s a rare privilege to see someone honored for 50 years - the third
one I’ve seen since I’ve been with the company,” he said.
Acme puts on about 40 employee appreciation ceremonies a year.
He recognized the Holly Springs plant for a two-year, no lost time from accidents
record while giving out a plaque to the facility’s safety committee.
“
You are all part of the team when it comes to safety,” Watson said, “but
the fact that it happened at the Holly Springs plant is due to individual
effort from all.”
He complimented workers for housekeeping improvements both inside and outside
the plant, saying improvements in specific areas of the facility have made
a difference.
“
More and more you see the improvements,” said Watson. “Housekeeping
and safety go hand-in-hand. I want to keep encouraging you to continue to
make improvements. It’s been a good year for the Holly Springs plant.”
