Board of Supervisors approves sewer for Chickasaw Trail

Pending review by the attorney, the board of supervisors gave its approval to transfer a half million dollars to get work started on the Chickasaw Trails sewer project.

Del Stover, interim executive director for the Industrial Development Authority, told supervisors Monday he needs the funds by June 15 so the contractor can buy pipe and other supplies.

Money to lay the $1.5 million sewer project (two miles of lines from Mt. Carmel Road to Dogwood Road and installation of a water treatment facility) will come from a variety of sources - $206,000 IDA will raise, $240,000 from Mississippi Development Authority and another million from low interest loans, Stover said.

Several industries have an interest in locating in the park. Representatives from one interested party toured the park last Thursday and another group will tour this week, Stover said.
